- Things to complete before you begin the FAFSA:
- Federal Student Aid ID - (FSA ID)
- You will need an FSA ID for student and one parent
- FSA ID gives you access to Federal Student Aid’s online systems and can serve as your legal signature.Only create an FSA ID using your own personal information and for your own exclusive use.

- After completion of FSA ID you can begin the FAFSA, during the FAFSA you will also complete the Residency Determination Service.
